"We had a delightful girlie birthday mountain biking weekend here in this spotless compact little cottage. Lovely location in a magical little valley with rural views from every window. We loved the tidy garden, the neat little farm and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was thoughtful of Steve to provide tea coffee milk and biscuits for our arrival. The weather turned very chilly while we there but with the excellent central heating we stayed super warm. The lounge was very comfy with a decent TV, and everything in top class condition, with a cosy 80's feel. There was plenty of space for parking and it took just a few minutes to drive to the nearest pub and about 15 mins to the cycle centre. The roads are steep and narrow here - great fun but watch out for deer leaping out in front of you!"

"Enjoyed a comfortable stay. Directions to the property were not good and it was very difficult to find."

"The cottage was clean and well equipped and the location is stunning with fantastic views. There are lovely walks on the doorstep and fantastic places to visit which are a short drive away. The milk and biscuits left by the owner was well received by the kids after the drive. Would very much recommend as we had a fantastic family break"

"The cottage is lovely and excellent value for money. We will definitely consider coming back when our children are older. I would advise though that it isn’t really suitable for children as young as ours. The living space is all on the first floor with a difficult to block staircase in the middle of the room. This was tricky for us as we have two under twos, one of whom was desperate to fling herself down the stairs. There is also no bath which is hard with little ones. That said the hosts had done a number of things to make our stay comfortable which were much appreciated. There were milk, tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for us in the very well equipped kitchen and I was especially grateful for the clothes pegs and Tupperware in the cupboards. Overall this was a great place to be, a short drive from the attractions of the Forest of Dean and local supermarkets etc but nestled away on a quiet farm. We loved it but it’s definitely more suited to older children."

"Wonder Box Cottage is a small cottage but was fine for two adults and two teenagers. It was tricky to find from the instructions and the roads a single track with passing areas so not for the nervous driver. We had a very relaxing, peaceful few days and enjoyed being surrounded by sheep, poultry and the cats and dogs."

"My wife and I cannot fault this accomodation, it is a home from home with as many facilities as one could ask. Surrouded by greenery and fresh air from local aforestation it is peaceful, healthy and one could easily write a book during a stay."

"Lovely place to stay & perfect size for our family of 4. Set in a valley on a farm the scenery was gorgeous. Took a short walk up through a field and we were into the woods which were stunning. It was lovely to hear all the sounds of sheep & their lambs all around and enjoyed the resident cats Tom & Jerry. Lovely little BBQ and Steve the owner was a perfect host, left us to our own devices but was there if we needed him. Will definately be booking in the future."

"well furnished and equipped cottage with views towards Forest. Ticked all our boxes including off street parking, washer, shower and wifi. We didn't have any phone signal but this wasn't essential. Village is accessed by steep and narrow road - so we were snowed in for 2 days (at least it was a different set of four walls lol. Lots of bird life and other wildlife. the field opposite had definite evidence of boar activity, but we didn't see any. Local pubs and shops a short drive away. The owners had left us milk and biscuits for our arrival as well as a supply of tea, coffee and sugar. There are plenty of walks from the cottage. It was a good Geo Cache area."
