Take a short drive to Dedham Vale, also known as Constable Country after the artist John Constable, where you can see his inspiration for his paintings and enjoy a walk around this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A trip to Beth Chatto Gardens is a must or follow the River Colne down to Mersea Island. It has some wonderful walking and is home to the Colchester native oyster, the ideal place to get out and enjoy the fresh sea air. A wonderful getaway you will want to return to time and again!
