About 11 miles to the northwest of the seaside resort of Skegness, it is situated at the base of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A wide variety of stores are present, including a pharmacy, a grocery store, two butchers, and a sizable store that specialises in doll houses and their accessories. Alford has grown to be a significant arts and crafts hub thanks to the numerous markets that take place there all year long. Every Tuesday and Friday, the major market is held in the Market Place. Additionally, there are annual Christmas markets and an August Bank Holiday craft market. The Grade 1 listed functioning windmill in Alford is famous for producing stone-ground organic flour for industry. With its museum, exhibitions, tearoom, and open gardens, Alford Manor House serves as the town's focal point.

Welcome box made us feel cosy despite Storm Bert raging outside. The garden is open to the road, but nice neighbours told us of handy local walkways, which made it easier for early morning doggy trips. I would definitely stay again.

All shops, market square etc right to hand. Weather was mixed for our stay and had a couple of days curled up in cosy sitting room in front of smart tv streaming 5 series of Luther! Beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard! Thank you to owners for our welcome pack and loan of your holiday cottage.

Excellent communication from the owners, the property itself was very well equipped, immaculately clean with high quality furnishings. There were so many thoughtful touches in each room, it was very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay!
