Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome pack and the property's proximity to local attractions and nature. The adjacent pub is a bonus for its friendly atmosphere and excellent food. The cottage's modern facilities and historical charm make it a recommended stay for a peaceful and enjoyable holiday.

Guests consistently note the cottage's cleanliness, with many reviews highlighting its meticulous condition. One mention of leftover food suggests a minor oversight, but overall, the property is celebrated for its cleanliness.

The location is frequently commended for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions, including a pub, reservoir, and country park. The village setting is appreciated for its charm and convenience for exploring the area.

Comfort is well-received with mentions of a cosy atmosphere and comfortable beds. However, a single comment about thin mattresses on single beds indicates a slight room for improvement in this area.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and superb shower. The mention of a non-functioning oven and a desire for a knife sharpener and reading lamp suggest some areas could be enhanced.

The welcome pack is frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness by the hosts. While such gifts are cherished, it is noted that they may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Unfortunately the owner was not expecting us and was surprised to see us in the property. Consequently there was no welcome pack and the preparation of the property was lacking (on going repairs). Crockery, cooking utensils and baking trays were not clean. We had the dishwasher on constantly for the first 24 hours. My wife felt the bedding and towels smelled fusty as if they had not been dried and aired properly before being laid out or had been laid out for some time. All that being said we would certainly consider the property if we were ever in the area again

As a previous reviewer mentioned, it would be helpful to have more detail about the stairs before booking, although I appreciate they can't be avoided. A downstairs toilet would also make this less of an issue.
