We had to go out and buy some suitable bath towels for 3 people. The listing is out of date, no longer a working farm but next to a new housing development. Messaged the owner with update of our arrival time, and about the lack of suitable towels, received nothing back, this put a damper on our stray and we decided to cut our loses and leave a day earlier. First time we have rented a cottage from Sykes and had no communication from the owners.

Cosy and spacious. Very private and good location for visiting Durham and the North East. Will probably be returning in the not too distant future.

Comfortable and spacious cottage, a home from home regarding appliances and facilities, located a short walking distance from all the village amenities, quiet indoors and other than a little motorway hum a peaceful place to stay
