At the rear of the property, enter through the French doors in the open plan living area to the lovely sunny garden and patio, ideal for barbecues on long summer evenings. A two minute drive will take you to the village of Castleside which has a selection of pubs or, alternatively, visit Consett, a little further away, where you will find supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Closer to home, guests can just nip next door and sample some of the delights in the owner’s caravan shop and café. The city of Durham is just half an hour’s drive away, with its wonderful cathedral, cobbled streets, river walk and an array of shops, pubs and restaurants. Also close by is the Roman town of Chester-le-Street, Beamish Museum and the Durham Dales. A little further afield are Newcastle upon Tyne, Hadrian's Wall, the Heritage Coast, Cragside at Rothbury and the North Yorkshire Moors, all worth a visit and all offering plenty of activities for everyone. In a countryside location, this cottage is the perfect place for touring the Durham area.

Fuel and power included in rent.

Bed linen and towels included in rent.

Off road parking for 2 cars.

Patio with furniture.

Two well-behaved dogs welcome.

Sorry, no smoking.

Caravan shop and café next door (summer opening hours only).

Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

Note: Fishing available on the River Derwent, 200 yards away by arrangement with owner.

Guests must bring their own fishing equipment and obtain permit from caravan shop.

Note: Due to close proximity to river, children must be supervised at all times.

Note: Cottage backs on to a large, busy, caravan park.
Note: Please bring you own dog towels and throws.
