The kitchen is amply-equipped with high-quality appliances so you can rustle up a lovely home-cooked meal, or a hearty breakfast before starting your day. Follow the spiral staircase up to the first floor, hosting two bedrooms; one double and one twin. Each bedrooms offers a stunning original stone wall feature, giving the property a wealth of character and a warm ambience upon entering. The family shower room has quality fixtures and fittings with a glossy finish. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed gravelled area, which offers a place to sit and enjoy a refreshing beverage - or step into the large hot tub and let those bubbling jets wash away those aches and pains from the day. Off-road parking is available for one car. Situated across the road from the property is a delightful stables, which offers horse riding opportunities. Take a long walk or drive into the bustling market town of Bishop Auckland, where you will discover a range of local sites that are a must-see on your holiday. The Auckland Project is a visitor's destination, comprising of the magnificent Auckland Castle. This castle was the home of the Prince Bishops of Durham, featuring a walled garden, deer park and the famous Auckland Tower with a viewing platform, museum and galleries. A fabulous destination for those interested in the history of the area. The town offers more than 200 shops, both traditional and independent, including boutiques and a selection of pubs and restaurants for some fine food and real ale. Situated a few miles away from the edge of the North Pennines AONB, with plenty of pathways for walking and cycling opportunities, and boasting stunning countryside views along the way. Bishop Auckland is a busy market town, 11 miles to the south of Durham and is home to the Gothic palace of Auckland Castle and deer park, a 900 year old medieval hunting lodge and grounds, once home to the Prince Bishop’s of England. Bishop Auckland offers a thriving arts and cultural scene with a cinema, theatre and arts complex. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the town centre and an abundance of shops to peruse. On the outskirts of the town you can discover the secrets of the largest Roman Fort in the county at Binchester or perhaps book a night at Kynren, a spectacular night show depicting the history of England, seen through the eyes of Arthur, a 10 year old boy from the North East, (opening July 2016) and marvel at the pyrotechnics, stunning lighting and water effects.The city of Durham is just a short drive north with an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, and a little further will take you to the Roman town of Chester-le-Street or Beamish Museum. A little further afield you can discover the Durham Dales, Newcastle upon Tyne, Hadrian's Wall, the Heritage Coast, Cragside at Rothbury and the North York Moors; there’s something for everyone.
