The cottage is surrounded by spectacular Teesdale countryside and makes a magnificent base for exploring this unspoilt part of the Dales. The pretty village of Mickleton is only 10 minutes' walk away. Note: Westfield Cottage adjoins Ref. 1132 Garden Cottage and the properties can be booked together to accommodate a group of up to 9.
Situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale is the small hamlet of Mickleton. Close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton. This lovely little hamlet is within a few miles of the market town of Barnard Castle, making it an excellent base from which to explore the region. The village itself is a quaint cluster of houses which flanks the main street and offers a post office, village shop and two pubs. The Pennine and Teesdale Ways run alongside the village and provide excellent walking through beautiful countryside whilst the magnificent waterfalls at High Force are also worth visiting. The stunning countryside in this area also offers great opportunities for bird watching and cycling, making it an excellent vacation spot for those who love the great outdoors.

Walking from the doorstep and close to Middleton for shops , pubs and cafes.

The cottage is in a quiet and secluded location with marvellous dark skies. The field opposite was running with hares! Westfield Cottage was spick and span and well equipped for a comfortable stay and was good value. We would be more than happy to return. If there are any negatives, the decor is rather dated and tired and doesnât do the accommodation justice. Also worth noting if you want to work during your break that the broadband is not unlimited.
