The cottage is surrounded by spectacular Teesdale countryside and makes a great base for exploring this unspoilt part of the Dales. Situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton is the small hamlet of Mickleton. Within Teesdale and just a few miles from the market town of Barnard Castle, this pretty village consists primarily of a cluster of stone houses set along a single street. With a post office, village shop and two pubs, Mickleton has everything a visitor could need. However for more specific amenities, Barnard Castle provides a huge range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Just on the doorstep are The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, providing beautiful walking routes through the local countryside. The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are also close by.

We were more than happy with property but could understand why some people had picked faults in the shower and cooking facilities

I would of liked a more relaxed settee and chair, the one in the cottage was too 'sit up straight' and not relaxing FOR US. But - this would not stop us coming again!
