*only three toilet rolls. * no kitchen roll *2 bin bags *2 dishwasher tabs * 4 cigarette buts outside the patio doors * ladies knickers in the washer * no visitors book * poor welcome dish a few paper tubes of sugar coffee and tea bags and 5 tiny pots of milk. Some little packs of biscuits. *single bed headboard broken *one tea towel *one little poor quality sponge and jay cloth. *front steps broken and dangerous *back steps slippy and grass uncut *the shower hose in the single beds room leaked We have stayed in Sykes cottages for many years and have always had very good welcome packs eg cake, bread, milk, jam, butter, eggs, wine and have always found them to be generous in their set up and organisation. The house appeared a little tired and in need of a spruce up. I must say the beds were very comfortable and clean and the towels were nice. The heating was good and the hot water.

It had lots of space, comfortable, well equipped and had a lovely garden. We also loved the village, it was so pretty and quiet with a very good Inn a short walk away.

    * The downstairs shower does not drain and needs attention * The washing machine does not drain on a coloured wash and needs attention * There was no detergent for the washing machine, only 2 dishwasher tablets and no general cleaning materials. Given the cost of the property this is poor. At least guests should be informed so they can come prepared * No information was provided about where clean towels/sheets were to be accessed for second week, thus requiring a phone call
