Pennsylvania Castle is just a few minutes’ walk and Portland Bill is within a short drive or moderate walk. The nearby Church Ope Cove beach is formed by a large expanse of limestone pebbles. Rufus Castle overlooks the beach which is south facing and safe for swimming. During your stay be sure to take a walk around Portland Marina, with some of the finest small boat sailing waters in Northern Europe and the official venue for the Olympic sailings events in 2012. There are a number of water sports and sailing activities to enjoy as well. Weymouth with its child friendly beach, shops and restaurants is a just a short drive away.
