Set on the ever-popular Isle of Portland, Ashlar Cottage is the perfect home from home for that family escape to Dorset. With a traditional feel throughout that makes you feel instantly at home, this two bedroom property has traditional features and a cosy décor.

One of our favourite things about this property is the outside space, and you can step straight outside from the galley kitchen to enjoy dinner at table. The living space is one of those rooms that makes you want to curl up after a busy day and just enjoy time as a family. Wooden flooring, stone walls and a window seat give the space a historic character, and when evening falls, it’s just the spot to cosy up and watch a DVD.

Upstairs, you’ll find a master bedroom for mum and dad on the first floor, and a colourful twin bedroom for the kids on the second floor. Within easy reach of Portland’s many attractions, yet with rural views to make you feel a world away from home, Ashlar Cottage is a popular base for that family escape.

Home to Chesil Beach, Portland Castle, Portland Bill Lighthouse and a whole range of other family days out, Portland makes a dramatic playground for all ages. Days spent fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast are a great way to bring Dorset’s history to life for the younger members of the family, and you’ll find some of the finest stretches of the South West Coast Path right on your doorstep.
