Boasting beautiful sea views from the master bedroom and only being a short walk from the rolling coastal path and quarry's walks of Portland, Dorset, it has a lot to offer from its setting. Just a short 5-minute walk from the front door you will find a lovely cafe offering local food and drinks and the Portland Museum. There is a bus stop if you'd like to visit further afield. A brisker walk of about 30 minutes will see you at Portland Bill Lighthouse, famous for being the most southern spot in Dorset with its dramatic cliffs and roaring sea waves. There are several wonderful places to eat, including afternoon tea and local seafood catch lunches and dinner. Portland stone is famous all over the world and most notably for being the stone that St Paul's Cathedral is constructed from. The Quarries are no longer active in the traditional sense, however there are many walks to be taken and Tout Quarry offers the added surprise of sculptures and etchings. Portland is also renowned for its rare wild life and birds. As well as multiple water sports, there is so much to be found on the doorstep.

Dorset's spectacular Jurassic Coast, is now a World Heritage Site, and the bustling village of Easton can be found at the top of the rugged Isle of Portland, joined to the mainland by Chesil Beach, a pebbled shoreline, which stretches 18 miles towards West Bay. Easton, is the second largest village on Portland, and boasts a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. The house is well furnished and modern with all the equipment you might need in the kitchen and living areas. It is in a great location for exploring Portland and beyond, with walks nearby coupled with easy access to supermarkets and local take-aways and cafes. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back.
