About this property

Emmies Cottage is perfectly placed for a country or seaside holiday in Dorset.  With overtones and echoes of the past it was built in 1845 and features some of the cottage's original beams. It is semi-detached and has been sympathetically converted to a high standard for today's living and yet retaining a cottage appeal.    Emmies Cottage nestles in the unspoilt village of Osmington with its stone thatched cottages and English country gardens. John Constable the famous artist chose the village of Osmington for his honeymoon destination, during which in 1816 he created his famous painting of Weymouth bay. The nearby seaward hamlet of Osmington Mills which lies in a narrow Valley around one mile from the cottage has a traditional pub, The Smugglers and offers a wonderful coastline with clifftop walks and coves to explore, West to Weymouth and East to Lulworth Cove. Weymouth with its golden sands lies three miles to the West.

Literature very useful. Lovely cottage, well equipped. Enjoyed the Aga though it did make the kitchen a bit hot, probably very welcome in November! Stayed July 2016
