The Acorn pub, delicious bakery, plus a restaurant and a spa hotel. A short drive away you will discover the town of Dorchester (9 miles) which is host to a wealth shops, cafes and restaurants as well as an abundance of tourist attractions including the Dorset Country Museum, home to the Thomas Hardy archive and collection.
Just a short walk away you will find yourself in Melbury Park, a beautiful deer park with a stunning Grade I listed Manor house and charming gardens. The Jurassic Coast, recently declared a World Heritage Site and the South West Coastal path are within easy reach and provide some wonderful walking opportunities. Here you will also discover the beautiful West Bay, a lovely sandy beach with a host of things to do for all ages.

Lovely characterful well appointed cottage that felt as if the owner had furnished it as their own home, with care and quality.Work in progress....? The windows will need some improvements (replacement), and the pretty garden can develop nicely with some more ongoing care.But, a very nice cottage.

The cottage was pleasant but dark inside, had some low beams and doorways we were not expecting and was overpriced. The heating did not Work on the first night during a very cold spell of weather.

Our few days at Laundry cottage were simply perfect . The cottage itself was beautiful and so warm and cosy , it really didn’t matter that it was freezing outside . The village is stunning, we loved visiting the post office and the bakery for our daily provisions and exploring the surrounding area with our dog. A visit to West Bay and Lyme Regis is a must.
