About this property

Water Meadows is situated on the edge of Maiden Newton, a village in the heart of West Dorset's 'Hardy country'. Only nine miles from the historic county town of Dorchester; look out for our sign on the road between Maiden Newton and Cattistock. Set in tranquil gardens, Water Meadows has a private patio area where you can truly feel "far from the madding crowd". The two bedrooms are finished to the highest standard with en suite shower rooms and LCD televisions. Water Meadows, which is one half of a larger detached property, has a contemporary lounge / dining area and kitchen plus a private garden.

Maiden Newton is an ideal base to explore the area, with excellent local facilities and transport links. The Chalk & Cheese (in the village) and The Fox & Hounds (1 mile) offer excellent reasonably priced food.   For fine dining try Le Petit Canard in the village.  There are also dozens of pubs within a short drive offering everything from snacks to fine dining, and numerous restaurants in nearby Dorchester.

We enjoyed our stay so much, such a lovely cottage. The bedrooms were good with en suites to both and the hot tub was great. We ate at the Chalk and Cheese in the village well worth a visit probably the best steak I've had. Wi-Fi was good at the cottage and my mum loved the TV, sofa was comfy and due to the time we went it was a lovely touch having a Christmas tree. A well appointed and nice property. Thank you for a great stay. Kay, Tony, Rose and Winnie the cockapoo. Stayed December 2017.

Fantastic property, everything you need was there, set out to a high standard. Owners were lovely and friendly, hot tub was brilliant after a long day out! Most dog friendly property we've stayed at. Wonderful village location with only a short drive to weymouth etc, will definitely be booking again. 5*** Stayed August 2016
