The village is one of the main gateways to the South West Coastal path and Jurassic Coast World Heritage site, with its 148ft cliffs and Hive Beach (National Trust). The light and airy hallway gives an instant feel of the roomy interior that the property has, with a Grandfather clock and wooden latch doors adding a sense of charm. Head left into the homely sitting room, with a stunning redbrick fireplace housing an electric fire to keep you warm whist watching the TV from the range of cosy sofas. The kitchen/diner is beautifully finished and amply equipped, with a charming feature fireplace and a large dining table to create a homely environment for everybody to enjoy their meals together. The ground floor of Overland also plays host to a pleasant double bedroom and a classy shower room which is ideal for guests with limited mobility to come and stay. The first floor of the property comes in two parts accessed either side of the hallway, with two tastefully decorated bedrooms either side, as well as a lavish family bathroom on one part and one bedroom benefiting from an en-suite. Stretch your legs in your enclosed lawned garden, enjoy your morning coffee whilst admiring the wonderful views towards the sea. Within walking distance there is a superb pub, The Three Horseshoes, where Hannah and Jaap offer the warmest of welcomes to all. Hive Beach Cafe is located on the beach, offering stunning sea views, as well as a post office and village store offering local Maydown farm fresh produce nearby. The Seaside Boarding House Restaurant can be found in a commanding, cliff top position, as well as there being a petrol station close to this. The house is ideally situated to access many areas of interest; approximately 2.5 miles from the market town of Bridport, The Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club is just 1.5 miles, The Swannery at Abbotsbury is just over 9 miles, The Cobb, Lyme Regis is 13 miles and The Jurassic Skyline Weymouth is 16 miles as well as historic Dorcester. Also take a visit to Lulworth Cove which is 28.5 miles and Seaton Tramway being just over 21 miles and Pecorama, the home of Peco, is 44 miles away. Further afield take a trip to Cogden where you will find an unspoilt shingle beach backed by farmland. Cogden is popular with anglers, walkers and is home to a wide variety of coastal flowers and other wildlife. West Bay and Bridport Harbour offers boat rides, row boat hire, angling trips, amusement arcades, fish and chips and wonderful walks. There are tea rooms, restaurants, cafés and seaside shacks selling something for every palette. Bridport, once famous for rope making is now a bustling market town with lively market days on Wednesday and Saturdays. There is a Farmers Market held in Bridport on the second Saturday of each month and a Vintage Market on the last Sunday of each month (March - October). In addition to the markets, Bridport has become known for the annual Hat Festival and the vibrant arts scene. A wonderful coastal village in Bride Valley on Dorset's picturesque Jurassic Coast, flanked by the River Bride. Burton Bradstock is the perfect spot for a peaceful break on England's south coast, with the South West Coastal Path running alongside for you walking enthusiasts. The village itself boasts 16th and 17th century thatched cottages as well as two pubs, a shop and a Post Office, the glistening Hive Beach is a wonderful spot to spend the summer days with the magnificent cliffs as a backdrop, there is also a lovely café to sit and relax in, once a year the Spring Tide Festival is held which would be worth lining up your holiday with! There are many attractions and activities to enjoy around here, with the stunning coastal resort of Weymouth making for an excellent day out. Alternatively, head inland to Dorchester and Yeovil for great shopping, architecture, eating and drinking.
