About this property

Field View Cottage is located at Higher Eype, about a ten minute walk from Eype a pretty 'olde' English village believed to have been a smugglers haunt! This rural cottage is positioned so that you may take in the splendid view of fields and countryside which surround it. The New Inn, where dogs are welcome, and hotel with a dog friendly 'Smugglers' bar open to non-residents during high season, offer a warm welcome to all visitors. Field View Cottage has been finished and furnished by the owners with a palette of muted sea colours and neutrals, the decor and furniture give the property an air of relaxation. The large, extended kitchen/diner is the perfect environment in which to enjoy a meal or coffee with friends and family and this opens out onto a patio and lawned garden bordered by fields beyond. With the Jurassic Coast on your doorstep this is ideally located for some hearty walks to nearby West Bay in one direction and Charmouth in the other. For a busier atmosphere, the market town of Bridport is only a mile away where you can find well known high street stores, antiques and collectables, as well as a regular farmers' market showcasing the best of Dorset produce.

Accommodation: Double aspect lounge with wood burning stove. Step up to kitchen/diner with French doors leading onto the pretty garden. Downstairs utility/shower room, toilet and hand basin, washing machine. From lounge, cottage stairs with turn at the top leading to first floor: Bedroom 1, king size double bed. Bedroom 2, bunk beds. Steep and narrow cottage stairs leading to second floor which has restricted headroom due to sloped ceiling height and very low beams (care needed) on this floor, Bathroom, bath with rinse attachment, toilet and hand basin. Bedroom 3, king size double bed.

Services in addition to standard equipment: Wifi. Gas central heating. Log burner in lounge. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Flat screen TV. Cot and high chair. Bed linen and towels inclusive.  Unrestricted parking in the lane directly outside the cottage but as the lane is very narrow here, although it should be fine to quickly offload outside, vehicles must be parked further down the lane where it is wider to avoid causing an obstruction.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at field view cottage. The cottage itself was gorgeous and we loved the attic bedroom. There was lots to do nearby and we would definitely recommend it to others - stayed August 2017

Excellent facilities in the cottage . It was our first holiday with a puppy and couldn't fault the amazing walks and views we have had , my daughter already wants to go back next year and cried when we had to go home . Stayed April 2016

Very nice cottage with a good feel to it. Extremely well stocked and maintained. The kitchen is a particularly attractive and useful room and the garden is nicely laid out. We had two cars which we tucked in along the windows as instructed and which seemed to cause no obstruction. To park higher up the road would not have been practicable. The cottage is further away from the beach than stated. Stayed August 2015
