With the Jurassic Coast on your doorstep and the sea directly in front of you, along with the coast path, this is ideally located for some hearty walks to nearby West Bay in one direction and Charmouth in the other. Magnificent rolling hills either side and nestled in a field next to the cliff (fenced) is the wonderful Sandpiper Chalet. This comfortable well equipped property is situated only 50 metres from the beach. Inside there is a light, airy contemporary living space which has been thoughtfully furnished. Seconds away is a beautiful pebble and sand beach backed by impressive cliffs, including Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the south coast. The chalet is located in the sleepy coastal village of Eype which has the benefit of a good local pub, the New Inn serving a good choice of food and a fine pint of ale. There is a seasonal shop. The village with its narrow winding roads and traditional pastoral buildings has a feel of years gone by and on a holiday here you may feel transported to a less frantic, more relaxed era. The market town of Bridport is only a mile and a half away where you can find well known high street stores, antiques and collectables, as well as a regular farmers' market showcasing the best of Dorset produce. The walks on offer around Sandpiper are some of the best available along the World Heritage coastline of Dorset. The beach is also good for fishing. If you want complete relaxation, you may wish to sit on the patio area and enjoy the surrounding views and tranquillity, or watch the sea from the comfort of the living area, or even your bed.

This was the fourth time that my wife and I have stayed at Sandpiper Chalet, and my son and his partner's third. I would say that in itself is a good testament to the standard of this holiday property. Whilst the owners have made some changes over the last two years this is in order to maintain consistency to the high quality of the internal decor etc. Also there is everything you need inside the chalet for either a short or long stay. The location is second to none, and whilst having an outstanding view of the sea it is within easy reach of all the local amenities. We shall definitely be returning again next year. Stayed June 2018
