"Having stayed here previous years, We were slightly disappointed by a few things. This year there wasn't a nice welcome tray with tea, Coffee and biscuits. Fortunately having stayed here before we knew to go shopping for the essentials i.e. :- Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk, Toilet roll. Admittedly they do leave a small amount of toilet roll but that's it. The kettle never seems to be descaled, Hence we took our own water filter this time. The first year we stayed the bathroom sink leaked and the key holder did kindly come down and fix it, but it seemed a short term fix sadly. Now three years on the sink seems to leak still. The shower head really didn't spray at all it was almost like standing under a tap. You can't move the head up or down as all the chrome has bubbled up and really quite un-usable. All in all it's a beautiful cottage with lots of character and a great location. It just needs a lick of paint a bit of updating and some TLC."
"This cottage was NOT the cosy country cottage that the photos led us to believe .It was cold had a musty unlived in smell and in fact we only stayed the one night and booked into a lovely hotel down the road sorry to say but a complete waste of money ."
"Nice little cottage with lots of cobwebs. Nice location -15 minute walk from the Cove, 5 minute walk from the pub, although can be a bit noisy being right on the road but this did not bother us too much. Did not find parking too much of a problem - we parked in West Rd by the cobbled wall which is only a minute's walk from the cottage. Need to bring your own bin liners as these not provided. Shower head needs replacing but still had reasonable showers nonetheless, likewise could do with a new mattress but still slept alright. Overall, we had a great holiday here - I would go back but my wife's not too sure."
"Although the area and views were stunning and the cottage was dry and warm we were slightly disappointed. Unfortunately we didn't feel that we received value for money in our choice of holiday cottage, we found it to be basic and dated. Although the bathroom was very nice the shower head leaked all over us and the sink leaked all over the floor. We found the the pillows and mattress cover were extremely stained and smelly. We used the cottage as a self catering holiday bringing all of our own food to cook and we found the kitchen equipment basic the freezer frozen up the toaster broken and the grill pan dirty."
"The problem with this review is you are asked would you stay again yes or no. Perhaps an alternative should be maybe. We might not choose to holiday in this area again but we probably will. Primrose Cottage gave us all we needed for our holiday. The location is fantastic being close to Lulworth Cove but not overwhelmed by visitors. Excellent pub in the village and at the Cove, good convenience store close by.Only problem was no mobile phone service but who needs that on holiday. All in all a recommended place but would we stay again, maybe."
"Cottage was in a great location but was dirty with dust, cobwebs and unemptied bins. Parking was also much more difficult than the details suggested."
"We chose Primrose cottage between moving from one house to another. The weather was particularly cold and with the lack of background/central heating, the cottage was very cold.Parking would be nigh impossible during the high season."
"we rented this cottage for a weekend in January. the heating consisted of one fan heater in the sitting room and one radiator in the bathroom. also there was no heating in the bedroom and a thin duvet on the bed. there where no extra blankets provided .very cold!!!!there was no information pack about the appliance int the cottage and very little local information."
"Unlikely to stay there again simply because the stairs, as we were warned, are quite challenging, and we aren't getting younger! A few minor points about the cottage: Absence of sieve or colander and terrible frying pan!. It would be a good idea to mention that no toilet paper was provided (luckily we came prepared)."
"Lovely cottage which was comfortable and clean. Could have done with a washing machine though!"
"Good base - marred by the inability to park the car within 250 yrds. Personally would not use again for that reason - otherwise fine"
"A lovely cottage in a beautiful village which we absolutely loved. Immediately this cottage felt like a home from home with lovely furnishings, even several freeview channels on the TV which pleased my 4 year old (Cbeebies present and correct). The cottage itself is compact, but plenty big enough for us. It was a little bit of a squeeze with a cot errected in the bedroom but certainly not unmanageable. As for parking we understood that this village was built before the advent of the motor vehicle and didn't have a problem parking just up the road from the wonderful pub. We could probably have parked closer but after driving to various attractions in the county a short walk was a perfect way to see the village properly. The local pub was having a year round cider festival (40+ Ciders available), dogs (& their humans) are welcome also. All in all we would certainly stay here again & had to drag my child kicking and screaming (not literally) from Primrose cottage."
