About this property

A charming, traditional Purbeck cottage originally built in the 1800s as part of a row of cottages for stonemasons working in the local quarries. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated over the years and retains plenty of period charm with the benefits of modern living.

Nestled within the Victorian seaside town of Swanage, this traditional cottage dating back to the 1800s makes a great base to explore the delights of Dorset. The cottage can sleep up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, please note that due to steep stairs it is not suitable for children under the age of 5 years.

Downstairs is a cosy living room with comfortable seating, a traditional kitchen with space for dining, a boot room leading to a family bathroom plus a stable door to the pretty courtyard area with shared access. There’s an additional small front garden laid to grass that can be accessed from the living room, ideal for guests who have brought the family dog with them.

Upstairs boasts a pretty, double bedroom and twin room.

The cottage sits back from the main road in an elevated position close to the town centre with all amenities and of course, the beautiful and sandy beach.

We found this to be a very comfortable, cosy cottage with all necessary amenities for our short stay. It's within walking distance to the town and the sea front, and also to King George's playing field which was useful for early morning dog walks. The small front terrace garden is perfectly equipped for breakfast and tea al fresco, with fine views across towards the downs. The interior is clean, comfortable and peaceful.
