This Grade II listed, Georgian property could be the base for that memorable family holiday that you need. The ground floor occupies the most delightful living areas, with the sitting room sporting cosy, period features, the roomy kitchen/diner is well-appointed and stylishly combines its modern units with a stunning woodburning stove housed by a redbrick fireplace. This unique, pet friendly cottage lies over two floors with steps leading to further bedrooms, two of its bedrooms are on the first floor; a double and a twin are complete to a pristine standard and are served by a classy shower room which boasts a double walk-in shower. A final four steps brings you to the gorgeous master bedroom, featuring a king-size bed with a wonderful port hole from the original 1800s building adding a touch of character. This room also comes with an immaculate, white en-suite bathroom. Relax in the delights of the Dorset air by taking a seat on the private courtyard, perhaps treat yourself to an alfresco meal. A North Dorset village served by two pubs a shop and with walking and fishing nearby. An easy drive takes you to Shaftesbury, whilst Sherborne has a castle and Abbey, situated 10 miles away. Alternatively, the Dorset coastline is also accessible.

Enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend to others who would like a quiet get away with beautiful countryside and villages to visit. This time of year though it was just nice to snuggle up with a good book after braving the cold to visit the beautiful Sherborne and interesting Shaftesbury. In warmer climes we eould have done more but this cottage is a fabulous base . Be aware of the stairs though, very quirky and twisty not suitable for everyone .

Spacious and comfortable beds. Great water pressure and shower was lovely in the morning. Easy to find and a parking space right outside. A nice friendly pub 2 minute walk away. The sofa was not the most comfortable and to deep but otherwise a great cottage. Could do with a griddle and some non stick pans and salad tongs, but otherwise very well equipped. Owners very friendly and relaxed. Would stay again.

Lovely hosts. Perfect for 2 couples with 2 dogs, we had a great stay. As in the description, the stairs are steep so take care!
