About this property

Two luxury barn conversions with 5 bedrooms, sleeping 10. Stunning countryside views from the furnished terrace and lawns

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Chisel Barn is a new conversion designed and fitted to the highest standards. The barn consists of two self contained properties, Whites Ground and Foxditch. Both offer light and airy accommodation with a large double height kitchen and living space.

Chisel Barn Foxditch and Whites Ground are both furnished to the highest of standards and offer luxury accommodation. The properties have retained many original features including exposed beams and limestone flooring. The properties are set in stunning countryside and offer far reaching views from the furnished terrace.

The barns were the base for a large and successful dairy enterprise and remain part of a working farm, with the adjoining buildings still actively being used for stock.

The magnificent and commanding views look over the River Stour valley, the dairy pastures of the Blackmore Vale and the churches of Shillingstone and Child Okeford to the south and west, and the Iron Age forts of Hambledon Hill to the north and Hod Hill to the east. A short walk across the farm takes you through a wood and past a lake to the excellent amenities of Child Okeford, or up the steep slopes to the top of Hambledon Hill where, on a clear day, there are views for many miles. Hambledon Hill is a classic example of an Iron Age hill fort and is now a National Nature Reserve famous for its wild flowers.

This is just one of many and varied walks which also include the Trailway along the old Somerset and Dorset Railway (and the newly restored Shillingstone station) to Sturminster Newton and Blandford Forum.

We have just returned from Chisel Barn, having had a long weekend away with family to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. On arrival we were firstly very pleased with the exterior of the barn and stunning setting with views over the Dorset countryside. When stepping inside the property we were equally pleased to find that the interior was just as beautiful, clean and spacious. 8 adults and 2 children shared the facilities; we all had very spacious bedrooms and the number of bathrooms was more than adequate. The booking process was simple and without fault; I'd be more than happy to book through Blue Chip Holidays again and look forward to returning to Chisel Barn one day!

Lovely location and excellent facilities....outstanding accommodation....we have an elderly mother and with the wide doorways and excellent bathroom facilities she was able to cope well.

I cannot rate this property highly enough. There were ten of us in our party so we rented both properties that comprise Chisel Barn. The property itself is second to none, finished to a very high standard, extremely comfortable and spacious. Everyone in our party commented on how nice the property was and on the setting. The views are fantastic! We took our two dogs as well and there are lots of good walks in and around the farm. So many places are extremely accessible from here; Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks, Studland, Lulworth, Weymouth and Durdle Door all within an hour. Many other fascinating places; even closer of course. Absolutely loved it!
