You can then return to your comfortable cottage where you can snuggle up in front of the warming woodburning stove. You're not short of things to do from this charming cottage; within two miles is the Iron Age fort at Badbury Rings giving panoramic views of the Dorset countryside and nearby is the National Trust property, Kingston Lacy House and Gardens. Take a fascinating boat trip around Poole Harbour and its islands or explore the stunning Dorset Jurassic Coast from Poole towards Weymouth and beyond. Have a relaxing day and browse the colourful array of stalls at the famous three day market at Wimborne Minster, or take the gentle drive up through Blandford Forum and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Blackmore Vale, beloved by Thomas Hardy. The east Dorset village of Sturminster Marshall, on the banks of the River Stour, is the ideal base for a holiday within easy driving distance of some of England’s finest beaches. The village boasts three pubs, a farm shop, golf course, village shop, including a pharmacy and Post Office, along with a parish church.
