This splendid apartment is situated in the heart of the fine ancient town of Tavistock. It is one of five apartments which have been beautifully converted from an old chapel to take advantage of the lofty space and big windows. From the communal hall, take the stairs to a small lobby from where the vast sitting room will take your breath away, with its amazing original stained glass windows, vaulted ceiling and big dining table seating ten people. You're spoiled for choice with eating areas, since the smart kitchen also offers a granite breakfast table for six. On the same level, two bedrooms enjoy the same romantic chapel windows. The third bedroom is smashing, a big family room on a mezzanine under the eaves upstairs. The small garden is a bit of a climb up steep steps, but it’s worth it for the amazing views over the town to Dartmoor’s tors. There’s lots to do in Tavistock itself, with interesting shops, popular pannier market, theatre, leisure centre, pubs and restaurants. You can drive or cycle on the 21 mile Drakes Trail to Plymouth and its city amenities, or take a more peaceful option by exploring the nearby National Trust attractions of Lydford Gorge, Saltram House, Cotehele and Buckland Abbey. With beaches just 20 miles away, The Wesley is a smashing place for a Devon holiday with lots to see and do.
