In a rural setting up on the moor and with magnificent views of Dartmoor, this cosy cottage, which dates back to 1900 is ideal for a peaceful getaway close to excellent walking routes. Boasting an attractive interior with oak flooring, exposed beams, luxurious soft furnishings and a stone fireplace housing a woodburning stove, this Tavistock cottage retains much original character and charm. The open plan living area opens out to a private enclosed sunny garden, a quiet place to read and relax; whilst indoors, the woodburning stove will ensure that guests are always warm, whatever the season. There is a very spacious mezzanine king-size double bedroom, along with a bathroom on the first floor, whilst on the ground floor is a twin bedroom and shower room. Reached by a drive up the side of a moor, Tavistock has a good range of shops and some renowned restaurants and pubs, while the slopes of Dartmoor are on the edge of the town and are very popular with walkers. Tavistock is a delightful, award-winning market town on the River Tavy, on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. The town offers an indoor pannier market, a number of shops, and a choice of pubs, bistros and restaurants. Wonderful walking and cycling can be enjoyed in the area, plus there are National Trust properties nearby. Within driving distance is the city of Plymouth, Torbay, and the North Cornwall coast.

The interior is very well planned and beautiful in details. It has everything one needs, with comfort and style. The wood burner was not working at the time unfortunately, but will soon be again - Iâm sure that will make it even more special. Ellen welcomed us with some eggs (amongst the best Iâve ever eaten), flowers and dog biscuits - thank you!
