This gorgeous, recently refurbished cottage is situated in a peaceful mews style courtyard in the centre of Sticklepath village within the Dartmoor National Park. Beautifully renovated and hugely sophisticated, it offers a luxurious base even for the most discerning holiday maker, ideal for families and friends. Enter via the front door into a hall with delabole flagstone floors, leading to the bright and stylish sitting room which makes the perfect space to relax in front of the wood burner or watch TV. To one end is a formal dining area with colourful dresser and a table around which to eat or plan your days to come. In the kitchen you'll find everything you need to cater for the group. Upstairs, a super king size bedroom with smart en-suite shower and a second room with a king size bed both offer plenty of natural light and nice views of the village from huge, original sash windows. Outside you are welcome to use the shared garden, (not attached to the cottage), with lawn and picnic table, or just a short walk from the cottage is a children's playground, ideal for burning off the last of the days energy. With a choice of two village pubs both offering good food, cooking is entirely optional. The National Trust property of Finch Foundry is within walking distance. Venture a little further to Okehampton with its cinema, leisure centre and restaurants or the city amenities of Exeter. Fast roads will whizz you to the huge sandy beach at Teignmouth 23 miles away, and of course there are miles of open space on Dartmoor just beyond the village to explore. Brackendale is a fabulous base for a traditional Devon holiday.

The small village of Sticklepath lies along an old ridgeway path within the northern boundary of the Dartmoor National Park, and is home to a shop, two traditional pubs serving good food and the fascinating National Trust Museum of Rural Industry. Encompassed by superb countryside, the surrounding area is a haven for nature lovers, walkers and bird watchers alike, while the nearby town of Okehampton boasts the remains of a fine Norman castle which dominates sleepy River Okement. Visit the nearby vibrant city of Exeter, with its magnificent cathedral, outstanding restaurants and colourful nightlife. Within easy reach, the fabulous beach resort of Bude, with its golden sands and cascading waves attracts surfers from the country over, while Westward Ho! with its prestigious Blue Flag awarded beaches is well worth a visit. A superb location for friends and family alike.
