Snaptrip says

Larksworthy Cottage in Devon is consistently praised for its charm, comfort, and excellent location for exploring Dartmoor and surrounding areas. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches, including treats and amenities. While parking and mobile reception are occasionally noted as minor inconveniences, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests frequently noting its immaculate condition. A few mentions of cobwebs and a desire for a firmer mattress suggest minor room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Dartmoor, North and South Devon, and Cornwall. The quiet village setting is appreciated, though some guests mention narrow roads and parking challenges.

Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the cottage cosy and well-furnished. The beds and sofas are described as comfortable, contributing to a relaxing stay, although a few guests found the mattress firm.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and thoughtful amenities. Some minor maintenance issues like a loose light switch and cobwebs are noted, but do not significantly detract from the overall experience.

Thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of treats, games, and local information. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed with every stay.

About this property

This pretty thatched cottage is situated on the edge of North Tawton town, down a quiet narrow country lane in a terrace of similar properties within walking distance of shops and pubs. An ideal base for exploring Dartmoor and its historic villages, this beautifully-presented cottage is perfect for couples and small families. The sitting room is warm and cosy and leads to the dining room. The exposed beams and stone fireplace give a sense to the history of this lovely cottage. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom feels romantic and spacious and, together with the single bedroom, the cottage can sleep a small family of three. The small garden at the rear of this cottage has a decked area with seating under the trees, a peaceful sheltered place to have a family barbecue in the evening. As well as walks from the doorstep along flower-clad lanes, there is the splendour of the Dartmoor Tors or the gentleness of Abbeyford Woods to explore on foot or by bicycle; both are also fantastic for dog walking. Nearby, Okehampton offers lots of history including a castle and a Victorian shopping arcade, whilst the north and south Devon coastlines are only a short drive. A fabulous, well presented cottage in the heart of Devon, where a warm welcome awaits.

The charming country town of North Tawton quietly rests amidst lush green fields, high hedgerows and winding lanes, just 7.5 miles north of historic Okehampton. Nestling between the high, rugged tors of Dartmoor and the wide sandy beaches and rolling surf of the North Devon coast, this delightful town boasts picturesque thatched cottages and quaint pubs and restaurants.
