About this property

A uniquely positioned, detached coach house resting in the foothills of Dartmoor within the peaceful village of Gidleigh, close to Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park, only two miles from Chagford. The perfect romantic holiday for two, The Coach House invites the dramatic moorland to its doorstep, beckoning from the raised deck that overlooks the valley and up towards the hills. Upon entering, be welcomed by the sitting room with its comfy three seater sofa, and magnificent stone fireplace which houses a cosy woodburning stove. Beyond this, the double bedroom awaits, a classic arrangement with bedside tables, a wardrobe, and a freestanding mirror; amidst a spattering of original retro influences. There is even a charming second room with a sofa bed should an extra guest wish to come along. A fresh white bathroom lies nearby, along with an immaculate kitchen, wrapped in warm coloured tiles. Lastly, a utility area houses all those extras you may need to feel right at home. With no traffic or light pollution this destination is perfect for nature lovers, with buzzards, owls and butterflies. It is a walkers paradise and a break to truly get away from it all, recharge and unwind. Nearby, Chagford is well known for its culture, film, literary and music festivals in the village as well as an annual running race. Beautiful 15th and 16th century buildings, stylish independent shops, arts and crafts, make it an absolute must-see for any visitor to Dartmoor. Fine dining, unique pubs and places to stay plus literary links, only add to the precious experience. The town is full of history and stories. Just over 15 miles away is the bustling city of Exeter. A peaceful place to stay.

Chagford features more active facilities such as a public tennis court and an open-air swimming pool to enjoy at your leisure. It is a village of great history, home to the Three Crowns Hotel which dates back to the 1200's.
