… about 2½ miles from Chagford, the last ¼ mile via tarmacked drive, a south-facing detached cottage beautifully converted from a barn in front of the owners’ farmhouse (no other houses nearby). The cottage and its sitting-out area (tables/chairs) to the front have wonderful long views over rolling moorland and meadows - a wildlife haven (marsh fritillaries in May/June). Camp fire available from late July to October and you can camp under the stars. Thirty-two acres of farmland to wander (stock permitting). Stabling/grazing available for horses.

Inside, modern and well finished with beams, natural colours, good fabrics. The accommodation is over three levels. Entrance via lower ground floor to lobby; double bedroom (6’ zip-linked bed or twin) with TV/DVD, free-standing bath in window recess with uninterrupted views to Easdon Tor, en suite shower-room (suite) and door to garden; utility room (washing machine, sink). On the middle floor, large open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, freezer, larder fridge) with woodburner, TV/DVD and large glazed door to outside; cloakroom with loo. Steep ladder stairs (unsuitable for small children) to another double bedroom (6’ zip-linked bed or twin) under the eaves with glazed end wall overlooking the living area, and pretty en suite shower-room (suite). Limited clothes-hanging space in bedrooms. Use of owners’ tumble drier.Spring water. A beautiful and original conversion in a wonderfully tranquil, timeless spot.
