Situated down a peaceful road lined by charming cottages in the village of Buckland Monarchorum, this pretty property provides a high quality accommodation for a family or couple looking to visit the beautiful Dartmoor countryside. Enter the cottage and step into a tastefully decorated sitting room accented with a soft red shade and accessorised with a number of quirky art pieces. The cosy room has a leather sofa sat opposite the wood burning stove, the perfect place to relax after exploring the moors. Through a doorway is the bright kitchen, fully appointed with all the appliances needed to cook up a fantastic meal. This room leads through to a beautiful dining area, with a feature glass atrium-style roof. This light and airy room is an ideal spot for enjoying breakfast or a relaxing dinner under the stars. The dining area has a pair of patio doors at one side that lead out into a patio area with furniture. Behind this are a set of stairs that lead up to a further garden area with decking and wooden benches. Eat al fresco on a warm evening or sit out with a glass of wine and enjoy this tranquil space. The first floor of the property consists of a family bathroom and two neutrally decorated bedrooms. The larger of the two boasts a king-size bed and a quaint original fireplace. The single room has a cosy day bed and offers views over the garden. The village of Buckland Monachorum is a sleepy settlement with an award winning country inn, Drake Manor Inn, serving tasty pub fare. Just a short drive away is the well known Buckland Abbey, a fantastic day out for all the family. The village of Yelverton is also within easy reach, offering a number of shops, cafes and restaurants. This quaint property is the perfect place for a couple or family wanting to visit Dartmoor and the South of Devon.
Situated in the Dartmoor National Park, the quaint village of Yelverton is the perfect base for anyone wanting to explore its natural beauty. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area such as the 21 mile-long cycling and walking route Drakes trail, which runs through the village and links nearby Tavistock and Plymouth passing through wooded valleys and open moorland.

Best of all, the fabulous Drake Manor Inn is just down the road and open for excellent food and drink seven days a week. The cottage is very cosy and clean, comfortably and interestingly furnished and has probably the best equipped kitchen of anywhere Iâve stayed in. Itâs on the main street of the village but very quiet. Thereâs a beautiful garden - it wasnât outdoor breakfast weather when we stayed, but we did enjoy getting the woodburner going. Garth the cottage owner lives in the village and was on hand and very helpful with any query. We had a lovely week and hope to come back.

Very comfortable and clean accomodation and a lovely garden to sit in. The Drake Manor Inn two minutes walk from the cottage is very good. We had two lovely meals there.
