About this property

... the perfect escape: a private drive off a lane on the outskirts of Belstone leads to a clematis-covered, detached, thatched, medieval, Grade II listed single-storey Devon longhouse 100 yards from the open moor. Small, flower-filled front garden and, behind, a larger, sheltered, enclosed, mainly lawned garden (picnic bench, table/chairs). The cottage has been marvellously restored with great flair, refurbished and redecorated, unspoilt.

Small porch into flagstoned hall (washing machine, tumble drier); 2 steps up to special living/dining room with huge oak beamed ceiling, massive fireplace (woodburner), original flagstoned floor (rug), TV/DVD, window seats: a room to dream in. Step up to small fitted kitchen (microwave); shower-room (suite). Two bedrooms – a double (5' four-poster bed), and a small room with 3' bunk beds. All good quality.

"Lovely little property and very friendly owners, in a lovely setting and a quiet village. Perfect for accessing Dartmoor and lots of walks. Very generous welcome pack too. "Thank you". Couldn't fault the property other than we found the kitchen was too small, so there was not enough space to prepare meals properly. We've been using HH for around 9 years now, and are still impressed with the friendly, professional customer service we receive. Thank you for another relaxing week in Devon."

"A really unusual and attractive property in a beautifully peaceful location yet close enough to the local facilities."
