Situated on a family run working beef and sheep farm, there is also opportunity to help feed the resident goats. Countryside views surround the property which is a haven for those looking for peace and tranquillity. Listen to birds’ song with your morning cuppa or take a stroll from the property and simply enjoy being in the country.  A few minutes’ scenic drive brings you to Winkleigh or North Tawton both with village stores and pubs.  Within a pleasant half an hour journey you can be on the iconic Dartmoor National Park which is clearly visible from the property and its surroundings, whilst the fishing port of Bideford with its quay, shops, pubs and cafes or Torrington, home to the world famous Dartington Glass and RHS Gardens Rosemoor are also easily accessible.  A footpath from the property provides a pleasant 15 minute walk and leads down to the River Taw which signifies the start of the Tarka Trail, a picturesque route which follows the course of the old railway line throughout Devon popular with walkers and cyclist.  **Birds Nest can be booked in conjuction with Butterflies Rest at a 10% discounted rate** (if no other special offers applicable).

On entering the property you are greeted by a light, bright open plan living area with plenty of comfy seating, smart TV and woodburner creating a welcome and cosy room in which to relax and spend time with family or friends.  Exposed stonework adds additional character to the room which also has wood flooring generating light and space. The well equipped kitchen/dining area is separated from the living room by tiled flooring and provides plenty of space for preparing meals before gathering around the table to reflect on the day’s activities or plan the next.  From the living area carpeted stairs lead up to a light and airy landing with storage and three bedrooms. The double has a large velux window and its own spacious ensuite shower room whilst a second double and further single room also have velux windows – black out blinds are available - and shared use of a tiled family bathroom which has a shower over the bath, velux window and heated towel rail. 

For balmy summer evenings French doors from the living room open onto a private paved patio area with table and chairs where you can enjoy a barbecue before relaxing with a drink whilst the sun sets over the surrounding countryside. An additional communal grassed picnic area is available close by with children’s picnic table and bench for their own tea party! A delightful, rural retreat between the North and South coasts, ideal for exploring the whole county including the historical city of Exeter.

Kitchen/dining area with American style fridge/freezer, elec oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and radio. First floor: Bedroom 1 with double and spacious ensuite shower room, WC and basin. Bedroom 2 double. Bedroom 3 single. Family bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin.
