About this property

The Coach House stands in the grounds of a handsome former Vicarage in the unspoiled village of Broadwoodwidger. Situated at the end of a quarter-mile private drive, this detached property dating back to the 19th century is a haven of peace and quiet. You are welcome to explore the surrounding 3 acres of grounds from which there are spectacular views of the local Devon countryside. Pretty window seats look over your own private, gated garden with table and chairs. Also on the ground floor is a neat kitchen and recently refurbished bathroom. On the first floor are two bedrooms; the light and airy master double and a single room with distant views over the adjacent fields. The Coach House is ideal for walkers and those who love to spend time outside. Nearby Roadford Lake offers an array of watersports, angling, cycling, walking trails and a lakeside cafe with stunning views. Close to the Devon/Cornwall border, this is an ideal location for visiting both counties.

Lifton is a small village in the upper Tamar Valley, close to Launceston and the passing A30 road into Cornwall. This pretty community, once sitting astride the old A30 London to Penzance trunk road, is blessed with a village shop and post office, a superb pub and 3 top quality restaurants. At the far end of the village is an award winning farm shop/pick-your-own complex with a good bakery and on-site restaurant. Well placed for visiting anywhere in the South West, Dartmoor is 20 minutes away by car, Bodmin Moor is also 30 minutes and all of the major beaches and Cornish holiday attractions can be reached in under 45 minutes.

We felt very at home and the attractive little coach house, which was warm and very well equipped, made it a very enjoyable stay - even in winter! We were particularly appreciative of the walled garden where our greyhound could be let out easily, and also the large paddock where he could have a good run off the lead.

Beds were very comfy. Having our lively spaniel with us, the paddock was ideal.

  • Elaine

The house is clean, comfortable and full of little touches which made our stay so effortless and problem free. The garden is lovely and our dog (and I) adored the paddock to let off steam before setting off exploring for the day. Our only regret is that we did not have the opportunity to thank the owner on leaving for our wonderful stay. We hope to return in the future, and stay longer!
