About this property

Home to two listed cottages with a shared loggia and swimming pool Home to two listed cottages with a shared loggia and swimming pool

Spend time somewhere special with a stay at The Old Stables Coach House in the heart of Devon where coast meets countryside. This pair of listed cottages shares a cobbled loggia that’s perfect for whiling away sunny afternoons, and they’re a great choice for those of you who love to holiday as a group yet still enjoy your own space.

With a setting surrounded by five acres of formal gardens and sun-dappled woodland, the cottages enjoy use of the site’s communal heated swimming pool between the end of May and September, as well as the tennis court, games room and the children’s play area, so they’re perfect for families looking for time out somewhere peaceful.

The Old Stables has two bedrooms and sleeps 4 guests, and this elegant home from home has original features and stylish features such as a double Jacuzzi bath in the family bathroom…bliss. The Coach House has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6, and its views of the surrounding countryside are breathtaking.

For those little touches, fresh baskets of warm bread can be arranged for a special breakfast for a small additional charge just to ease you into Devon life after your journey. There’s even a limited babysitting service available throughout the year to help mums and dads enjoy some time out together during their stay.

The beaches of Bude are just ten minutes’ drive away, and if your kids are anything like ours they’ll be content to spend day after day enjoying time on the sand. For that sandy stuff you don’t want to take inside your cottage, you’ll find a shared storage cupboard outside for use of both properties. See, we’ve thought of everything.

Dogs are welcome in both properties, and with so many walks to discover in the surrounding area there’s plenty of opportunity to walk your best friend somewhere you’ll never forget. There are some fantastic bike rides and horse rides in the Holsworthy area too, and if you fancy a spot of fishing you’ll be able to see what you can catch too.

Just returned from 5 Nights at Glebe House Cottages. We were 2 families and rented 2 cottages next to each other, The Stables and Coach House. Unfortunately the boiler in The Stables had broken down a couple of days before we arrived, however the owners were quick to ring and advise us of this and instead we stayed in The Poacher, which was not a problem, although it didn't have quite as much character. The cottages were gorgeous and well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The only minor problem was the fridge and cupboard space for us, although we managed to get round this. The grounds were pretty and well maintained, although our younger children (age 11) were a little disappointed that the trim trail was no longer there. However the pool made up for this and all 5 of the children made time to go in there everyday and had great fun. We also used the games room a lot, although the low ceiling was a bit of an issue for the men of the family, being 6 foot and over. The little bar was adorable and the owners were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help - nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful surrounding area. We ventured out every day and always had a wonderful day. We were a little disappointed that the pub in the village did not offer food, meaning you had to drive if you wanted to eat out. However the owners did give us details of a taxi we could use if needed, which was very helpful. Would definitely recommend Glebe Cottages and would love to return again sometime.
