… 2 miles from Bideford, quietly situated on the edge of a valley, is Pillhead Farm, a 130 acre working sheep farm with paddocks, small orchard and plenty of space for guests to roam. Within the original farmstead there are four cottages carefully converted from barns and the oldest part of the original farmhouse. We let three. The cottages share the grounds, a splendid outdoor solar-heated swimming pool (15’x30’ x 4’ to 5’deep) with small paddling pool (9x10x1½’ deep), available mid May to mid September) and sunbathing terrace (loungers), mown orchard and picnic area. Each cottage is quite separate from the others, with its own outside space and individual and spacious interior.
The Corn Tallet is ‘upside down’. From your garden area (picnic table), 8 stone steps up to stable doors (low lintel) into fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with breakfast table/chairs. Large living/dining room with wonderful beams to apex, TV/DVD, stable door to garden and sense of space. Stairs (stairgate) from here down to three bedrooms – step down to a double with four-poster bed (TV) and en-suite shower room (suite) and a twin, both with French windows to balcony area, and 2 steps up to a further twin (linkable to 6’ double) with TV. Bathroom (suite plus hand shower, bidet) and separate loo.

"We enjoyed a great long weekend at The Corn Tallet. A lovely part of Devon, although we didn't actually go anywhere as we and our family, including grandchildren of 6 and 4, just wanted to stay around the farm and walk up the hill to enjoy the lovely views. A lovely spacious place to stay in, all very clean, welcoming and well equipped. Thanks to Richard in particular for making us so welcome. We would all happily enjoy another stay at the Corn Tallet."

"Lovely place, friendly family. Lovely muffins made by Richards wife on table when we arrived. Everything about the place was suitable for a relaxing holiday. Really lived up to what we are used to in this type of holiday accommodation. Bear in mind that it is a working farm, so expect a little noise."
