… on the edge of Riddlecombe, a pretty, detached, thatched cottage. On the side of the Cottwood valley and alongside a bridlepath, the cottage has lovely rural views of wooded hills beyond. There are beautiful woodland and river walks in this unspoilt corner of Devon. From the driveway, gate to enclosed sloping garden, cobbled terrace and steps up to well stocked, secluded garden with pond (covered), decked area and lawns.
Large open-plan hall and beautifully fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, larder fridge, cooker with induction hob) with woodburner. Step up to utility room (useful for wet dogs/boots) with washing machine, tumble drier, freezer and door to garden. From the hall, step to large living room with huge fireplace (woodburner) and TV/DVD. Downstairs bathroom (suite plus hand-shower). Steep stairs up to three bedrooms – a large triple-aspect double (5’ sleigh bed) and views, and a double overlooking pretty garden and a twin (2’6” truckle, linkable to 5’ double), both with limited clothes-hanging space. Small shower-room (suite). Two golf courses nearby. A relaxing retreat from the hurly burly of life.

"A fantastic peaceful week at Hope Cottage. Great woodland walk on the doorstep which was enjoyed by all, especially our three Labradors. A particular highlight was to watch the vast variety of birds that visited the garden. Very cosy and well appointed, would highly recommend a stay here."
