“Perfect location!” Reviewed on Trip Advisor August 31st, 2015 Adorable cottage in excellent condition having been recently refurbished. Stayed here with my wife and 12 year old daughter for 1 week and have to say it was a fantastic holiday despite the weather. The cottage is in Irsha Street and just a minutes walk to the seafront views and close to a friendly family pub, The Beaver. The street is very narrow and lined with quaint colourful cottages. Ours had 2 decent sized bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen including a washer/dryer, microwave and fridge freezer. The power shower in the bathroom was excellent with ample hot water. There was a TV and radio with board games in a cupboard and plenty of books to curl up on the cosy sofa. A small courtyard patio outside the kitchen unfortunately didn't get much use due to the rain! A downstairs hallway cupboard had everything needed to make the holiday more enjoyable with crab nets, a body surf board, beach bags and an umbrella (very handy!). We had a great stay and Apledore is a perfect base with plenty of friendly pubs and excellent fish and chip shops. Freshly made breads and pastries from Johns in the village were a regular treat. Just up the road and a short drive is Northam Burrows and for around £3-4 you can spend the entire day here crabbing, walking along the sandy beach and collecting driftwood. It really is a beautiful place. It's even free to get in after 17:00 and you can stay up until 22:00. Hardly any gripes.......phone signal is pretty much non existent in the house, but for some that could be seen as a godsend! Wi-fi would have been handy and is about the only improvement I could suggest. Parking wasn't ideal, but we always managed to find a space within a reasonably short walk and parkied outside the property during arrival and departure to load/unload. Would definitely recommend and will most probably return in the future.
