About this property

A luxury house in an award winning developmentA luxury house in an award winning development

Shoreside is a new development on the banks of the River Teign in Shaldon, one of Devon’s most scenic villages. These properties have been built to a high specification so as to blend in with the local architecture. The riverside location makes this a superb place to enjoy a holiday.

Shaldon village itself has five welcoming pubs that, along with the superb views across the estuary, serve some excellent meals as well as cafes, restaurants and bistros to choose from. There is a good range of local shops including a bakery, general stores, a local butcher and a delicatessen.

A short climb to 'The Ness', a tree topped cliff overlooking the mouth of the river will be rewarded by a magnificent view across to Teignmouth and out to sea. Shaldon Wildlife centre, a small zoo dedicated to conservation is also located here.

There is a small passenger ferry available which transports visitors on a scenic crossing from Shaldon beach over to Teignmouth. Whilst in Teignmouth take a scenic stroll along the banks of the River Teign or take in a little nostalgia on the seafront pier, which also provides stunning views along the coastline.

For visitors in search of some retail therapy then Exeter is just a short drive away, catering for all your shopping demands. Whilst there pay a visit to the impressive Exeter Cathedral or stroll along the picturesque canal, home to an array of antique shops and waterside cafes.

...everything you could need. We had a fantastic time and it's our 3rd time in the same house. Submitted by Sally on 08/06/2016

...superior-quality cottages, set on the estuary of the river Teign where it meets the sea. It is a truly superb location, watching the various boats coming back into the harbour, and the trains from Paddington to Penzance racing along the tracks on the opposite bank. Shaldon village, is quiet, very private and an ideal location for a small family, (three adults, mother, father and son). 5 Shoreside is a double-fronted cottage, with every amenity possible. A very tiny courtyard garden had been converted into a rear parking space, with room (just) for a small table and chairs. The property was immaculate, and it was spacious, extremely comfortable. There were a few "niggles". The recycling facilities were dreadful, and we found ourselves trying to recycle on a daily basis, but the lack of recycling stations in Shaldon made this difficult. The kitchen had no hooks for a hand towel/tea towel, and we were surprised to have a toilet so close to the kitchen, with no dividing wall. In the master bedroom the bed was made up with a really heavy quilt. Last but not least, we couldn't open the windows due to the absence of a window-lock key!! It was a very hot week (Hurrah!) and the inability to open the windows was quite a problem. We LOVE Blue Chip, we have holidayed with you many times before, at Moorings Reach, Brixham and will definitely do so again. You are, by far, the best holiday company we have ever used. Here's to NEXT YEAR!!! Submitted by David on 10/07/2015
