From the doorstep, numerous walks or bike rides can be enjoyed along the country lanes and across the National Park to several of the most spectacular local Tors (Haytor only 1 mile) or alternatively Widecombe-in the Moor or many of the South Hams and Torbay beaches are a short drive away.

Compass Cottage offers quintessential, characterful and comfortable accommodation. Thick walls, beamed ceilings, a country style garden and a superb granite fireplace inset with a wood burning stove to snuggle up in front of are just a few of its delights. This idyllic retreat will appeal to both families of three as well as couples.

Accommodation:

Front door opens into large beamed living room with feature granite inglenook fireplace inset with a wood burning stove, two sofas, television and DVD / video player. This leads into the dining kitchen. Dining area with table to seat three. Traditional and well equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine and ipod dock. Beyond the kitchen is a modern luxury shower room with open double shower, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC. Door from dining area to rear garden. Steep stairs rise from the living room to the first floor. Sizeable master bedroom with pretty exposed beams, 4ft 6in Antique reproduction double bed with built-in wardrobe. Door leads into adjacent single bedroom with 2ft 6in single bed, dressing table and built-in cupboard. Cloakroom with hand basin and WC.

Outside:

To the front of the cottage, there is a small pretty garden with a patio area and garden bench. From the rear parking area approximately 12 uneven granite steps lead down to the cottage back door through a delightful sunny country style enclosed terraced garden which is grassed and planted with mature shrubs. Guests may use the summer house, and the rear garden also boasts two recliners, a bench as well as a table with chairs for al fresco dining.

Parking:

Parking for two cars. Access to a garage is available for one small car with a secondary space in front of the garage. Please note that access to the rear parking is up a 100 metre narrow and uneven lane. Additional roadside parking may be available the front of the cottage.

Please note: Due to the steepness of the stairs and the rear garden steps, this cottage may not be suitable for the elderly or for those with mobility concerns.
