About this property

In a peaceful setting overlooking much of the town, 2 Rockmount is a tastefully furnished, pet-friendly single storey holiday property located within a ten-minute walk of Salcombe's famous shops and waterfront. A level terrace with seating surrounds three sides of the property with pleasant views over and across the town to Batson Creek and Snapes Point.

A flight of steps takes you to the property entrance from the parking area. A spacious hallway with plenty of room for shoes and coats leads to a light and airy dual aspect living-dining room with comfortable sofa, easy chairs, cosy gas fire and a flat screen digital TV. A pleasant dining area in front of the large picture window takes in the amazing views during dinner!

The modern kitchen is well fitted with a four-ring gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a small breakfast bar. A door takes you out on to the terrace.

There are two bedrooms, both with blackout blinds. The master bedroom has a King-size bed, and a good-sized, twin second bedroom with two single beds. Modern family bathroom with bath, shower (over), wash-hand basin, w.c., shaver point and light.

Outside, a level terrace surrounds three sides of the property with a flight of steps leading up to a very pleasant decked area with table and chairs, and stunning views across to Snapes Point. From this area further steps lead up to a gate and direct access to/from Onslow Road.

Salcombe is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts, walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea. There are several pretty beaches within a short distance, including North Sands and South Sands, plus the coves East Portlemouth on the opposite side of the estuary, just a short passenger ferry ride away. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, coasteering, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe, take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking on the South West Coast path.

Steep parking spot, but convenient for the town. Lots of steps (as described), difficult when loading and unloading the car. Very happy with our choice.

The house was clean and had everything we needed apart from a travel cot which we took with us. The sofa and beds were very comfy with a beautiful view to the estuary from the front balcony seats. The location was great for walking into town and very beneficial having a parking space- albeit very steep, but we always remembered to leave it in gear and got used to the steel steps to the house. We would stay here again and recommend.

The accommodation was spotless, well equipped and home from home with fantastic views, the owner has thought of everything. A great addition to the property having a parking space and having the electric car charging which we did use very easily. Very well situated for walking into Salcombe around 10 minutes down hill. We loved Salcombe, all the local pubs are dog friendly and offer a good range of delicious food although a bit pricey but you expect it in Salcombe. Lots to see and do around the area without having to drive too far. Absolutely fabulous I could have stayed forever.
