About this property

Willow Cottage is a contemporary take on the traditional Devon retreat, combining modern features with classic touches. Step inside and you’ll find yourself in the lounge and games room. The separate snug lounge makes a cosy space to curl up and enjoy the peace and quiet after a busy day exploring the South Hams.

If all that local Devon produce inspires you to cook for the rest of the group, the country kitchen makes just the place to do it. With everything you need to cook up a storm, and a double oven to make things even easier, a stay at Willow Cottage is all about gathering the rest of the family in the spacious dining room and tucking in. When it’s time to step outside, the lawned garden has plenty of space for games and picnics, and there’s a sun-trap of a terrace just off the kitchen that makes just the spot for barbeques or to sit back and enjoy the setting.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Kingston is a picturesque, unspoilt village celebrated for its tranquillity and the ancient pub, The Dolphin Inn. Willow Cottage is ideal for walkers, golfers and fun family holidays. The location is also idyllic for exploring the surrounding coast and countryside with the Erme estuary and beautiful Wonwell Beach only a short drive or a bracing coast path walk away. Also close by are the excellent golf courses of Bigbury, Thurlestone and Wrangaton.
Please note that bedroom four has two built-in bunks in an adjoined annex which is accessed via the kitchen

This property was easy to find as it has the village post box built into the wall. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the property as it looks quite small from the outside. Inside it was clean and well appointed - we did not even use the front room. All the rooms were nicely decorated and well appointed. The living spaces are roomy and full of character. Our two youngest daughters relished their own bedroom and bathroom off the kitchen. Outside the terrace is sunny in the morning and the upper garden has the sun into the evening. What struck us most was the peace and quiet of the village - you can sleep with the windows open and not hear a sound through the night. The sea is a picturesque walk through the fields or down through a wooded glade (1.5 - 2.0 miles). Access to popular beach areas (Bantham, Bigbury or Thurlestone) is excellent and only takes 15 minutes by car. There is a superb recreation ground in the village with a play area for younger children and a zip wire for older ones. The local pub is unique, where you can sit and have a pint in the lane and serves good value meals, but you will need to book during peak holiday periods. Plenty of tea and cake in the surrounding villages supplied by the local WI.
