Had a fabulous stay at Gara Rock, cottage was really clean, well equipped and the facilities were excellent, would recommend to family and friends.

Once we had made our way through all the narrow Devon lanes we came upon this haven of peace and tranquility. The views are amazing, the beach deserted and the onsite facilities are fabulous. If you don't want to take the car out,the walk down to the ferry over to Salcombe is a delight. We chose the shorter route through the woods on a bridal path,(we didn't do the coastal route). In half an hour you can be in Salcombe at some excellent eating places.Buses can take you further afield if you want. The indoor pool is warm and welcoming. The cottage has all the equipment and furnishings that you would expect in a home from home. Scones awaited our arrival, a lovely touch. Would thoroughly recommend this site if you are fond of walking, swimming and just getting away from it all.

We have spent many happy family holidays at Gara Rock in the past but his was the first time we have visited the new development and we were very impressed. The décor and furnishings were lovely and our view from the garden a delight. We tried the outdoor pool and the spa and both proved a big hit. We also ate at the cafe. Two minor criticisms were that as the place is so secluded it could do with a small shop - even if its just for basics like bread, milk and wine! We came prepared as we knew from past experience how remote Gara Rock is. And my son and daughter would have appreciated a bar or some gathering place in the evening. I know it is still early days and perhaps you have plans in mind. Also we would have benefited from a site plan as it took us 24 hours to work out the entrance to the indoor pool! But all in all it was a delightful stay and the cottage was immaculate when we arrived. We appreciated the cream tea too and its nice to find essentials like loo paper and soap. We had a great time and will hope to return in the future. We would thoroughly recommend it. But not to the old or infirm!
