About this property

A compact, lovingly refurbished cottage set in the beautiful estuary side of DartmouthA compact, lovingly refurbished cottage set in the beautiful estuary side of Dartmouth

Every inch the traditional Dart cottage, Lake Victoria has been lovingly refurbished to an excellent standard, and is now bursting with contemporary colour and light.

Boltholes in Dartmouth seldom come cuter than this and the location is nigh on perfect, situated as it is on a quiet residential street, opposite the market square centred around which are excellent gastro pubs, cafes and independent shops, not to mention a quality fishmongers, butchers and an artesian bakery!

The cottage is dressed in a welcoming and light hearted coastal theme with muted shore shades and local art works. The living room and dining area are delightful and perfectly complemented by the funky kitchen, which has bags of character and is fully fitted with all mod cons.

For visitors to Dartmouth who, like most, want to park up and forget about the car for a long weekend or more, Lake Victoria Cottage is perfectly situated for short strolls on the level to the harbour side and River Dart promenade, where you can access all manner of more refined modes of transport such as those offered by The Dart Steam Railway and Paddle Boat Company.

...equipped. It is comfortable and thought has gone into the pleasant decor. The location is perfect for walking to pubs shops and local amenities. Dartmouth is beautiful. Submitted by Belinda & Sue on 01/01/2017

...been updated well in terms of décor. The location of the cottage is ideal for anyone who wants to park their car up and walk everywhere. The bedroom was light and airy with good storage space. The bathroom was quite small but the shower worked well. The doors were a bit heavy and old fashioned and all opened out onto the small landing which became a bit congested for access to bathroom and bedroom at times. The stairs are quite difficult to negotiate as they spiral and are quite narrow for the foot so would not recommend to anyone who is not too fit. Dartmouth itself is lovely, so many great shops, cafes and restaurants and so much to sit and watch when outside at the pubs. The ferries run brilliantly and we used these quite a lot for exploring the surrounding areas. Only downside with the cottage was the early morning deliveries to shops close by (although the delivery men were as quiet as they could be)and the lack of any view at all. We took our Westie pup with us and he loved the whole experience of being in a place that is so dog friendly. We had a really good (and sunny) week and will definitely return to Dartmouth.
