About this property

Situated in the centre of Dartmouth in quiet Lake Street (just off Victoria Road), The Hideaway is a contemporary dog-friendly cottage on three levels. The town's famous waterfront can be easily reached on foot in just a few minutes for a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and shops or for boat trips, crabbing or simply to watch the world go by. The historic sites of Dartmouth castle, and the Britannia Royal Naval College are also nearby, whilst across the water at Kingswear are two National Trust properties, just waiting to be explored!

The accommodation is ideal for one/two couples accommodating up to four people. With a stylish lounge/kitchen/dining room, two bedrooms (one of which is en suite), and fabulous family bathroom, the property is very well-equipped.

For those looking to soak up the South Devon sunshine with a glass of something chilled, or perhaps an al fresco meal, the property has a secluded, sunny decked area off the kitchen - the perfect spot to relax in after a busy day exploring the River Dart. The property also has a parking permit for one car, for the nearby Mayors Avenue car park (subject to available spaces).

Ideally positioned for enjoying all that South Devon has to offer, why not take to the breathtaking South West Coast Path easily accessible from the property and providing walking opportunities galore. Or head to the Start Bay coastline, just a 10-minute drive away - dotted with picturesque coves and beaches, you will be spoilt for choice!

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
