We went away for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay but was ruined by the staff by having no privacy. Every day (morning and evening) with no knock or warning the maintenance staff would just walk on round to the hot tub to do their daily checks. We understand this has to happen but a simple knock on the door to make us known they were carrying out this would have been nice. Instead of walking straight in and staring through the window. On the morning of departure they opened the back door and came in uninvited to plug in there extension lead 8:45am and started to drain the hot tub, Our departure wasn't until 10am so found this very rude and intrusive. Not only did they do this once they returned to unplug it to and literally stood on the deck waiting for us to go. My partner wasn't dressed as just showered and doesn't expect to see the maintenance staff within our rented lodge. Sadly this ruined the stay to what should of been a chilled peaceful getaway but found ourselves always being rudely interrupted by the staff.Also the electric wine cooler kept tripping all the electric out intermittently so couldn't use the Kitchen sockets.

Some issues with plumbing and would expect a lot more cleanliness but overall was a nice place to stay. Very rural so everything is at least 40 minute drive which isn’t an issue if you don’t mind driving. Would stay again but with a group of people.

The Elm Lodge was spotlessly clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. The hot tub very relaxing, and the water temperature perfect. The surroundings are beautifully peaceful and tranquil. A car is needed to access local areas. The staff onsite are welcoming and knowledgeable and our time spent in this lodge was fantastic. We will be back, so thank you Caroline, Nigel and Pat for ensuring we had the perfect stay.
