… 2 miles from Parracombe, and 2½ miles from the little pebble beach at dramatic Heddon's Mouth, deep in a lush tranquil wooded valley, a 17th cent. farmhouse and two detached cottages which started life as grain and animal barns. All nestle in the shelter of mature trees and ancient hedgerows - full of wild flowers, birds and butterflies at the right time of year - and have lovely views to Trentishoe Down. There are 40 acres of pasture, streams, wild wood and moorland which you are welcome to explore. This is terrific walking country, far away from the hustle of modern urban life, and an ideal spot to enjoy its calm. Timeless green lane and woodland footpath (walking boots needed) to Hunters Inn, about 1½ miles. The farmhouse and cottages share use of a laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier and games barn (table tennis) opposite. Spring water.

Garden surrounds the house with steps down to front door and around to a sunny, gravelled patio, a great deal of lawn space and an unfenced stream running along one side. Hall (for coats/boots); loo; relaxing living room with windows either side, wood floor (rug), woodburner, TV/DVD and door to large, paved patio (table/chairs, barbecue, evening sun and views); double doors to large kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, oil-fired Aga, electric cooker, walk-in larder with fridge-freezer) with French windows to garden; second living room-cum-snug with TV/DVD; back lobby with sink and door to garden.
From the hall, stairs up to three bedrooms – a double (5’ bed) with lovely views, another double (6’ zip-linked bed or twin), and a single; bathroom (suite with roll-top bath) and shower-room (suite). Second flight of stairs from back lobby up to two more bedrooms – a double (5' bed), and a single; bathroom (suite).
A lovely family house with masses of space all around and wonderful walks from the door.

"Stayed 30 May - 6 June 2015. We had a very relaxing time at this lovely farmhouse and enjoyed walks from the door as well as further afield such as Valley of The Rocks. And Watersmeet. It was a pleasure to open the french doors in the kitchen/dining-area and take breakfast outside overlooking the pretty garden. The AGA is continually available should you get the urge to make bread and scones which it bakes beautifully. The owner Sally was helpful and unobtrusive and we would be more than happy to return. "

"Heale Farmhouse is definitely the most beautiful house we have ever stayed in; full of delights inside and out. It managed to be both cosy and at the same time spacious enough to accommodate our party of 8 adults without a problem. An ideal place to get away from the crowds and enjoy the stunning scenery just outside it's door. We will definitely be back!"
