Newly converted for the 2017 season this former Gentleman's Country Residence is located in a unique position and offers the most magnificent panoramic views of Lynmouth Bay, and the magnificent coastal scenery of the Exmoor National Park.  Originally constructed by Sir William Sanford in 1815 the building incorporated some pre- existing cottages and has a huge amount of charm and character whilst offering high stands of furniture, fittings and equipment.  Lynton Cottage apartments  offer a very special place to enjoy a wonderful holiday with family and friends.

This hillside villa has its own private entrance and is a wing of the original Grade ll listed Gentleman's residence of Sir William Sanford, constructed in 1815. Recently part of a Country House Hotel, the accommodation has been refurbished for the 2017 season to high standards whilst retaining much of the original character.  Tucked into the hillside where Exmoor meets the sea, its unique position offers the most spectacular views out over Lynmouth Bay to the high cliffs of Countisbury and the wooded valleys of the East and West Lyn.  Known as 'Little Switzerland' this picturesque area of the Exmoor National Park with its spectacular coastline and quaint, historic villages, offers truly inspirational scenery and walking country. A ramp access leads up to a private front terrace and  the front entrance leads directly into the spacious lounge and dining area. This spacious living area has direct access onto the private terrace where you can enjoy panoramic sea views of Lynmouth Bay and the Bristol Channel.  A newly fitted kitchen is at the rear of the property.  A spacious Master bedroom with hand carved four poster bed and ensuite facilities is on the first floor and provides spectacular sea views.  A second bedroom is on the ground floor and has level access and ensuite facilities.

This is ideal accommodation for couples or families and those who may benefit from more accessible accommodation.  The pretty hilltop village of Lynton is just a short uphill walk and offers great character and a choice of individual shops, restaurants and pubs and is connected to its twin village of Lynmouth by the famous water powered Cliff Railway giving access to a picturesque harbour, Manor green and riverside walks.  An ideal base to explore the splendour of Exmoor with is wild, open tracts of heather clad moorland that contrast magnificently with tree lined valleys. Souring cliffs and beautiful rock strewn coves extend from Porlock and through Lynmouth to Combe Martin providing quite exceptional coastal walks.
