Stable Cottage is an attractive character cottage, a few minutes stroll downhill to the centre of Braunton which offers a great selection of individual shops, family-friendly cafes, pubs and restaurants. The village is the gateway to a choice of magnificent surfing beaches including Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay and with the Tarka Trail running through the village there are miles of level cycle ways (cycle hire available in the village) around the estuary towards Barnstaple and then Bideford.
The cottage dates back to 1843 and access to it is via the side gate with the entrance opening into a hallway with striking exposed stone walls. The cosy living room is at the front of the cottage and has an inviting wood burning stove set in the inglenook fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped and has a small table for dining. The downstairs has tiled flooring and there is also a cloakroom.
The staircase curves up to the landing where, two attractive bedrooms with wooden latch doors occupy the first floor along with a bathroom. The front bedroom has a day bed with a pull out trundle bed. At the rear the double bedroom has patio doors which lead out to a small railed decking area between the cottage and the greenery of the rock face. This gives guest the option of another place for an al fresco meal or relaxing drink. Outside steps lead down to the side of the cottage where a stone barbecue has been built by the rocks.
Stable Cottage is a charming base in the popular village of Braunton, with the bonus of being within easy reach of some of North Devon's best beaches.
Accommodation: Ground floor: Hallway. Living room with Smart TV and woodburner. Kitchen/breakfast room with gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Cloakroom with WC and basin. First floor: Bedroom 1 with Double and doors out to decking area. Bedroom 2 with day bed with pull out trundle bed, TV with freeview, DVD. Bathroom with bath with hand held shower attachment and separate corner cubicle with electric shower, WC and basin.
Note: the cottage does have a number of low doorways so please take care and mind your head. The road outside the cottage does not have a footpath.
Facilities and Services: Linen and towels. Gas CH. Wi-Fi Broadband. No smoking. One pet welcome. Raised decking area on first floor level. Garden furniture. Barbecue. Basket of complimentary logs provided. No travel cot provided so please bring your own. A parking permit is provided for private car park approx. 200m away. Also limited roadside parking available approx. 150m from cottage. Short breaks available. £100 refundable security deposit. 3pm arrival time. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Friday.
