Barn Owl is one of 12 delightful holiday cottages at the popular Saunton Sands Farm Cottages complex. Situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and about 1 mile from the beach at Saunton Sands described by the Radio Times and Daily Telegraphs as one of the UK’s best. The indoor activity complex includes heated indoor swimming pool**, large hot tub**, indoor play barn with table tennis, pool, table football and Wii games. There is also a dedicated play area with toys for smaller children.

The 12 acre estate which guests are welcome to roam includes an adventure play area with climbing fort, swings, play house and picnic tables. Also within the grounds are animals including sheep and chickens and a large carp lake for keen anglers to enjoy. It also provides a haven for wildlife including swans, wild ducks, kingfishers, barn owls and a great variety of other birds. This hidden gem lies shielded by a copse of trees with a simply stunning lake, beautiful and tranquil and on a sunny day provides a magical place to sit and relax.

 

The cottages lie within an idyllic rural setting nestling in a special part of North Devon, located close to the Tarka Trail and the South West coastal footpath, meaning they are ideal for families, walkers and cyclists.  The nearby village of Braunton provides a good selection of eclectic shops and eateries with the market town of Barnstaple and further choice of surfing beaches at Croyde and Woolacombe all just a short scenic drive away.

 

This mid terrace two bedroomed cottage is a level walk just a few yards from the guest car park.  Accommodation is all on one level and Barn Owl is south facing with views over farmland to the estuary and the cottage has a rear enclosed garden with sitting out area and garden furniture. 

The entrance has a large porch ideal for storage including surfboards and fishing rods.  The inner door then opens into a large open plan living area including lounge, dining area and kitchen. French doors lead out to a covered patio and enclosed rear garden.  The lounge is well furnished with 2 bespoke sofas and wall mounted flat screen TV/DVD.  The kitchen area has a ceramic hob, grill integrated double oven, fridge dishwasher and washer/dryer. 

Off the hallway are two well-furnished bedrooms with views over the countryside, one with a double and the second with bunk beds suitable only for children.  The bathroom is well equipped, tiled, with power shower over full size bath, underfloor heating and heated towel rail.  Ideal for families and close to all on-site facilities. Barn Owl is a great choice.

Bathroom with bath and fitted power shower over bath, underfloor heating and heated towel rail.  WC and basin.

Cottage Facilities and Services: Linen and towels. Electric heating. Wi-Fi Broadband. No smoking. Regret no pets. Highchair, bed guard and cot (available on request, please let us know at the time of booking). Garden furniture. Enclosed Garden. Ample parking. Short breaks available. Arrival time after 3pm. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Saturday.
